Who We Are

DIVINE All Along was conceived with the intention that no other soul should have to suffer from religious abuse. To that end, the vision for DIVINE All Along is bold, history-shaping, and healing: The eradication of the influence of flawed theology on power structures and the restoration of rights and wholeness for all those abused, rejected and oppressed by religion.

We are not a religious institution of any kind. DIVINE All Along is a 501(c)(3) Human Rights Defender organization whose mission is to end religious abuse of our queer family.   DIVINE All Along goes beyond LGBQT+ affirming to fully embracing the belief that queerness is a spiritual gift. Founded by Executive Director Mark Dilcom, DIVINE All Along is becoming a leading activist organization for LGBTQ+ people who have experienced religious abuse and trauma.

Our Guiding Mantras

One

We are each responsible for reclaiming our DIVINE birthright.

Two

We all have power until someone disempowers us.

Three

Our beliefs do not give followers of flawed theology ANY permission to deny our right to live and flourish.

Four

Faith is a personal choice; a unique, individual experience.

Five

Communal interactions are collaborative, sharing experiences with dignity and respect for all.

Six

Institutions are man-made structures.

About Our Founder

Mark Dilcom has been called a reluctant mystic. No theology degrees, no ordinations, no career as a minister. Just a calling to build a home for LGBQT+ people to reclaim their faith and learn to love freely.

Mark identifies as both queer and as a post-Church person of faith. His spiritual journey includes eleven-plus years of sobriety work, deep self-acceptance, and restoration of his divinity. Along the way, he created his Framework of Faith;  completed Transforming Community, a two year leadership program with the Shalem Institute for Spiritual Formation; co-created Radical Love Live;  developed and led multiple guided retreats and workshops; and conducted extensive research on all things spiritual.  This work revealed his calling to be what others have described as a queer mystic and activist to end religious abuse.
